Each year, the Greater Miramichi Service Commission, through Growing Greater Miramichi, hosts a special gathering to welcome and celebrate the healthcare heroes who have chosen to make the Miramichi Region their home.

In 2024, the celebration at the historic MacDonald Farm was especially meaningful, marking the launch of our new Family Medicine Residency Program, a key step toward strengthening local healthcare. It was a chance for colleagues to reconnect, for newcomers to meet friends, and for everyone to enjoy a day filled with fun, food, and community spirit.

In 2025, the first ever Healthcare Hero Awards were presented. Highlighting healthcare workers throughout the Greater Miramichi Region who have provided exceptional care to their patients.

At the heart of this initiative is our belief that strong relationships and supportive networks are essential to attracting and retaining talented healthcare professionals. By creating opportunities to connect outside the workplace, we aim to showcase the vibrant, welcoming spirit of Miramichi, a place where professionals can build not only rewarding careers but also fulfilling lives.
