4th Year Scholarship Spotlight
Robert Loggie: Inaugural Recipient of the 4th Year Medical Student Scholarship
We’re proud to introduce Robert Loggie, the first recipient of the 4th Year Scholarship as part of the Family Physician Local Pipeline initiative. A fourth-year medical student at Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick and a native of Miramichi, Robert embodies the very heart of this program: cultivating local talent to serve and strengthen our communities. With a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Mount Allison University and a clear passion for community health, Robert has already demonstrated his commitment through impactful outreach work. Over the past year, he has delivered vital presentations on STI prevention and contraception to students at Elsipogtog School and has engaged with the Eel Ground Health Centre to educate on diabetes management. His journey into medicine was inspired by the care his grandmother received during her cancer treatment—an experience that sparked a deep desire to make a difference in others’ lives.

The 4th Year Scholarship was created to support and retain future family physicians like Robert by easing the financial burden during the final stretch of medical training. As Robert puts it, “My goal as a physician is to return to Miramichi and invest my skills back into the community that helped shape me into the person I am today.” His words and actions reflect the mission of this scholarship—to build a sustainable, homegrown healthcare workforce that remains rooted in and committed to the region.
Congratulations, Robert!
We’re honoured to support your journey and excited to see the impact you'll make.
